01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

At Mitani Seimenjo, the noodles deserve as much attention as the dipping sauce. The recommended soy-sauce tsukemen pairs medium-thick noodles with a tangy broth for dipping. A regular serving is 150g and a large serving is 300g. Diners have singled out the smooth, easy-to-slurp noodles and the way they go with the sauce’s acidity.

You can also choose the same medium-thick noodles with a clean-tasting, salt-seasoned dipping sauce. Diners have praised the pairing, making it a good option if you want something different from the tang of the soy version. The menu also describes the thick noodles as chewy and substantial, and the thin noodles as smooth with a crisp bite. Other choices include medium-thick Noodles α, made with roasted bran, and thin, flat noodles. Extra portions and large servings are available for 1 noodles at 150 yen.

Fish tsukemen pairs fish flavour with noodles made without egg. One diner enjoyed how smoothly those noodles went down, as well as the aroma of an extra portion of medium-thick noodles. Trying more than one type is part of the appeal. For a dish beyond tsukemen, there is also egg-topped noodles: medium-thick noodles served with either a salt-based sauce or dashi soy sauce. Choose them warm or cold, and in a regular 150g, large 300g or extra-large 450g serving.

The summer-only chilled tsukemen comes with a choice of soy or salt dipping sauce, and noodles including thick, thin, egg-free and flat varieties. One visitor chose the cold dipping sauce with flat noodles, a seasonal option that still leaves room to explore the different noodle textures.

Dine-in service is available at lunchtime only, and the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. Hours are 11:00 to 13:45, so plan your visit around lunch. Reservations are not accepted, and payment is cash only.
